Sip is a personal wine journal and taste profiling app created by Tristan Thomas. This policy explains what information the app processes and how it is used.
Information you provide in the app
Sip stores the wine information you save in the app, including ratings, notes, wine details, and taste profile data generated from your saved entries.
If you choose to use camera or photo-library features, Sip may also process bottle photos or wine-list photos that you provide in order to identify wines or enrich wine details.
How your data is used
Sip uses your data to:
- Save and display your wine journal entries.
- Generate your taste profile and tasting summaries.
- Let you search across wines you have rated.
- Optionally identify wines from barcodes, bottle photos, and wine-list photos.
- Optionally look up wine information online when you use search, Predict, and enrichment features.
Online search and enrichment
When you use optional online wine search, prediction, or enrichment features, Sip may send relevant query text, barcode values, wine-related details, or the images you choose to submit to service providers used by the app, including AIProxy and its underlying model or search providers, in order to return wine matches, predictions, and enrichment results.
These requests are used to provide the feature you asked for. They are not required to use the app's basic local journal features.
Storage and syncing
Your journal data is stored locally on your device. If iCloud syncing is available and enabled for the app, your data may also be stored in your iCloud account to keep your information in sync across your own devices.
Accounts
Sip does not require you to create an account.
Data sharing
Sip does not sell your personal data. Data may be processed by third party service providers only as needed to operate optional online features or Apple platform services such as iCloud.
