Rendez

Privacy policy

Last updated 10 September 2026

Rendez is developed by Tristan Thomas. It helps you find meeting points by comparing journeys. You do not need a Rendez account, and the app does not include advertising or third-party advertising trackers.

Locations and journey planning

Rendez uses the places you enter to search for locations, calculate journeys and compare meeting points. If you choose to use your current location, the app asks for permission and uses it as a starting point. You can change this permission in your device’s Settings or enter a place manually instead.

Location searches, maps and driving directions use Apple services. Public transport planning and live arrivals use Transport for London (TfL). Requests may include locations or coordinates, journey times, transport choices and accessibility preferences needed to provide the result. These providers also receive the network information needed to handle requests, such as your IP address.

Rendez does not send your journey information to a separate server operated by the developer. Apple and TfL process requests under their own privacy policies: Apple Privacy Policy and TfL privacy and cookies.

Saved Home and Work

Saved places, including their labels and coordinates, are stored on your device. In versions that support iCloud syncing, they also sync through your private iCloud database when iCloud is available. This uses your Apple Account; the app does not receive your Apple Account password. Earlier versions keep saved places on the device only.

You can edit or remove saved places in the app. When syncing is available, removals are sent to iCloud. Small deletion records remain so that an older device does not restore a removed place. Offline changes are synced when the app is open and a connection is available.

Opening directions and sharing

If you open directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps or Citymapper, the selected journey information is passed to that service. If you share directions, the information in the shared link is made available to the recipients and service you choose. Their own privacy policies apply.

Support emails

If you email t@tristanthomas.me, your email address and the information you include are used to respond and investigate your request. Include only information you are comfortable sharing. You can contact the same address to ask about or request deletion of support correspondence.
